Every weekday morning at 6am in my local timezone, build me a short audio briefing of the day ahead and drop it into my Slack DM as a voice memo. Use Google Calendar, Hume, and the Slack Bot.

Step 1. Read the calendar. Use Google Calendar's List Events to pull every event on my primary calendar between now and the end of today in my local timezone. Include attendees, event description, location, and start and end times. Skip events I have declined, all-day events, and anything marked as free or working location. If the day is empty, send a single Slack message saying the calendar is clear and stop.

Step 2. Draft a 60 to 90 second spoken script. Write it the way a thoughtful chief of staff would brief me out loud. Open with a one-sentence shape-of-the-day ("You have five meetings today, two external, and a two-hour focus block after lunch"). Then walk through the meetings in order by start time, naming each one clearly. Highlight the two or three that most need prep, using this judgement: external attendees outweigh internal ones, larger attendee counts matter more than one-on-ones, and meetings with an empty description or no agenda deserve a callout. Also flag anything that conflicts or is back-to-back with no gap. Keep it warm and conversational, not a robot reading a list. No em dashes. Aim for something a real person would say in about 75 seconds.

Step 3. Turn the script into audio with Hume. First call Hume's List Voices to fetch my voice library and pick the voice named "Morning Briefing" (or whichever name I configure later). Then call Hume's Text-to-Speech (File) operation with that voice and the script from step 2 to get back a binary MP3. Aim for a warm, focused delivery.

Step 4. Post to Slack. Use the Slack Bot Upload a File operation to send the audio into my DM with the bot (open the DM if needed). Title the file with today's date, for example "Day-ahead briefing, Tuesday July 15". Then use the Slack Bot Send a Message operation to follow up in the same DM with a plain text list of the meetings: bullet per meeting with time and title, ordered by start time, so I can scan and tap through titles fast.

A few rules. Skip the whole thing on weekends. If Hume fails or my voice library is empty, fall back to just the text list in Slack and mention that the audio failed. Keep the script under 90 seconds of speech. Never include attendee email addresses in the audio or the text list; use names only. If a meeting title is generic like "Sync" or "Chat", use the attendee names to make it recognizable instead.
