Any airport with an IATA code, from big hubs like JFK, LHR, and ORD to your own regional bases. Just list the ones your team cares about.

Do I need a paid AviationStack plan?

No. The free plan covers today's departures for a short list of airports. If you want to watch a lot of airports or run the brief several times a day, a paid plan gives you more headroom.

How does it decide which airports to lead with?

It ranks the airports by how disrupted they are, using the delay rate and cancellations, and puts the worst offenders at the top of the email.

Can I send it to my whole team?

Yes. Point it at a shared distribution list or group address and everyone gets the same morning brief.

What if a flight's status changes after the brief goes out?

The brief is a morning snapshot of the day ahead. You can schedule it to run again later in the day if you want a refreshed view.

Daily Airport Delay & Disruption Brief by Email

Every morning at 6:00am, build an airport disruption brief for a configured set of hub airports. Default to JFK, LHR, and ORD, and let me edit that list to match the airports my operations team cares about.

For each airport on the list, use AviationStack's Get Flights (Real-time and Historical) operation, filtered by the departure airport IATA code, to pull today's departures with their current status and delay figures. Keep the airport list short, because AviationStack's Free plan is limited to plain HTTP and roughly 100 requests per month.

For each airport, summarize the overall picture: how many departures are delayed or cancelled, the delay rate as a share of all departures, the worst individual delays with their flight numbers and destinations, and which routes or airlines are the most affected.

Draft the combined brief as an email using Gmail's Create a Draft operation, then send it with the Send a Draft operation to my operations distribution list. Order the airports worst-first, leading with the ones in the most trouble, so the team can plan around the disruption before the day gets busy.

What it does

Each morning, checks today's departures at the airports you care about and tallies how many flights are delayed or cancelled.
Works out the delay rate for each hub, flags the worst individual delays, and calls out the routes and airlines taking the biggest hit.
Writes it all up as a clear email brief, ordered so the airports in the most trouble sit right at the top.
Sends the finished brief to your operations distribution list before the first wave of delays lands.
