I want an app my marketing ops team uses to run ActiveCampaign contact list hygiene by hand, one contact at a time, instead of trusting the blunt built-in cleanup tools. ActiveCampaign bills us on total contact count rather than active subscribers, so list bloat is a direct cost problem as well as a deliverability one, but the native Engagement Management and List Cleanup tools bulk-unsubscribe with no per-contact review step. This app is that review step.

The main screen is a review queue. Load the mailing lists with List Lists so rows show real list names instead of ids, and load contacts with List Contacts ordered by last activity. Sort every contact into one of three buckets: never engaged (no recorded activity since the contact was created), quiet (last activity six months or more ago), and bounced or unsubscribed (hard bounced, or already unsubscribed everywhere they belong). Each row shows the contact's name and email, the lists they belong to by name, their last activity date, and the bucket they landed in. Let the reviewer filter the queue by bucket and by list.

Across the top, show one tile per bucket with the contact count in that bucket and the estimated monthly bill impact, calculated from a cost-per-contact rate set in the app's settings. Add a combined figure for the estimated monthly saving if everything currently in the queue were removed.

For each contact the reviewer picks Keep, Sunset, or Delete. Sunset calls Unsubscribe Contact from List for every list the contact belongs to, then Add Tag to Contact with a dated sunset tag such as sunset-2026-08; resolve the tag with List Tags and fall back to Create Tag the first time that month's tag is needed, then reuse it. Delete calls Delete Contact behind a double confirmation: a dialog that states plainly that deleting a contact in ActiveCampaign is irreversible, plus a requirement that the reviewer type the contact's email address before the button enables. Keep stores the decision in app state and suppresses that contact from the queue for 90 days, after which it can resurface if it is still inactive.

Every Sunset and Delete also appends a row to a Google Sheets audit log using Append Values: reviewer, contact name, contact email, contact id, action taken, lists affected, tag applied, and a timestamp. Write the audit row before the delete call goes out, so an irreversible delete is never missing from the record. The spreadsheet and tab are set in the app's settings, and the app writes a header row if the tab is empty. This gives the team an undo reference and something to hand compliance.

Include a bulk mode. Let a reviewer select a whole bucket or a filtered subset, preview exactly how many contacts will be affected, and apply Sunset or Delete across all of them in one pass, with the same typed confirmation for bulk deletes. Show progress while it runs, list any contacts that failed so they can be retried, and append one audit row per contact rather than a single row for the batch.

Keep each reviewer's decisions separate so two people can split the queue without stepping on each other. Record who made each decision, drop a contact out of everyone's queue once anyone has actioned it, and give each reviewer a history view of their own decisions.

One API nuance to build around: ActiveCampaign rate limits to 5 requests per second per account and returns 429 with a Retry-After header, so page and act at a throttled pace and back off when told to. For large contact lists prefer id_greater with orders[id]=ASC over offset pagination. Cache the loaded queue in app state so switching filters does not refetch everything.
