Every hour, triage new comments on my Facebook Page posts and keep me from missing anything that matters. This runs on a cron trigger, once per hour.

Step 1. Use the facebook-pages integration and call List Published Posts to find posts from the last seven days on my Page. For each post, call List Post Comments to pull the current comments.

Step 2. Dedupe against comments already handled in a previous run. Persist the set of processed comment ids between runs so the same comment is never handled twice. Only proceed with comments that are new since the last run.

Step 3. For every new comment, classify it as one of: praise (clear positive sentiment or simple thanks), a genuine question, a complaint or negative sentiment, or spam.

Step 4. For clear praise and simple thanks only, auto reply directly on Facebook using the facebook-pages Comment on Post operation with a short, on brand acknowledgement (one or two sentences, warm but not over the top). Do not auto reply on anything else.

Step 5. For questions and complaints, do NOT post anything on Facebook. Instead, draft a proposed reply, then use the slackbot integration Send a Message operation to send a Slack message to my review channel. The Slack message should include: the original comment text, a link or reference to the post it is on, the author's name, the classification (question or complaint), and the draft reply I can edit and paste back manually.

Step 6. Skip spam entirely. Do not reply on Facebook and do not send it to Slack.

Step 7. At the bottom of the Slack update for the run, include a running count for this run of how many comments were auto replied to versus how many were escalated for human review. If there are zero new comments in a run, stay silent and post nothing to Slack.

Ask me for my Slack channel and my Facebook Page during setup. Default the auto reply tone to friendly, brief, and human. Keep the human in the loop on anything sensitive; only low risk positive comments get an auto reply.
