Every Monday at 8am, build my food brand's social week out of what is trending on Tasty and queue it in Buffer. The end result should be five recipes picked, captions written for each platform, everything scheduled across the week, and a Slack message to me listing what is going out so I can edit or pull anything before it goes live.

Start by calling Tasty List Tags to confirm the exact tag slugs before filtering anything. My brand's tags are under_30_minutes, vegetarian and comfort_food, but check them against the real list rather than assuming, because Tasty silently returns empty results for tag strings that are not real slugs.

Pull candidates with Tasty List Recipes filtered to those confirmed tags and sorted by popularity. Request a single page of results rather than paginating deeply. The Tasty free plan only allows 500 requests per month, so this workflow should stay economical: one List Recipes page plus one List Feeds call per run. List Recipes already returns hero images, ingredients and nutrition, so do not call Get Recipe Details afterwards. It is redundant and often returns a 404.

Call Tasty List Feeds once to see what is featured on the Tasty homepage right now, and prefer recipes that appear in both the popularity-sorted list and the current feed. List Feeds requires a timezone in plus-or-minus hhmm format, for example -0500, so pass my timezone explicitly.

Before drafting anything, call Buffer List Posts covering the last 60 days across all of my channels and build a list of recipes I have already posted. Match on both the recipe name and the source recipe link. Never queue a recipe that already appears in that history. This dedupe step is the whole point of the workflow, because without it the same popular recipes get re-posted week after week.

Call Buffer List Channels to resolve my Instagram, Facebook and X channel IDs. Use the channel IDs returned there rather than hardcoding anything.

Pick five recipes. For each one, call Tasty List Recipe Tips and look for a genuine reviewer quote worth using as a hook. If a recipe has no usable tip, either use a different angle for that recipe or pick a different recipe. Never invent a quote or attribute words to a reviewer who did not write them.

For each of the five recipes, write a caption tailored to each platform: a short hook plus relevant hashtags for Instagram, a longer story-style post for Facebook, and one punchy line for X. Attach the recipe's hero image from the List Recipes result. Always credit Tasty and link to the original recipe page. Write original caption copy about the recipe. Do not republish the full ingredient list or the step-by-step instructions as if they were my brand's own content, since this is BuzzFeed Tasty material and attribution matters.

Queue each post with Buffer Create Post using custom scheduled times rather than dropping them into the default queue. Spread the five recipes across the week so roughly one lands per day, and stagger the three platform versions of the same recipe so they do not all publish at the same minute.

Finally, send me a Slack message listing the five picks with the recipe name, the link to the original Tasty recipe, the scheduled time for each channel, and the full caption text for every platform version. I want to be able to read the whole week in that one message and go edit or delete anything in Buffer before it publishes.
